Ubuntu 11.04 vs Windows 7

Good comparison between Ubuntu and Windows;

I don’t understand, why people still use Windows; is it because people are used of bad things and not willing to change  to great product, even it is free?

Nokia C-503: Worst phone, I have ever seen

Hi I brought my Nokia C-503, three months back and struggling to make it full functional.

It has worst User interfaces, applications hang randomly and only way to come out of hang is hard reboot. It has got very huge boot time.
Few days back went to Nokia Care center and got the upgrade of software, person responsible for software upgrade deleted all my data without information me. To me there upgrade system is faulty.
Worst part is after the upgrade phone display disappears randomly.
Customer care folks don’t understand the problem, they just upgrade the software for all the problem. I went to customer care multiple times and lost all my hopes, now I am trying to get hold of Nokia folks so that I can give this phone back to them as donation, so that that sick company can survive for few more hours.

Totally hopeless folks;I will never recommend anybody to buy any of Nokia product .

RC files in Unix/Linux

The “rc” naming convention of “rc files” was inspired by the “runcom” facility and does not stand for “resource configuration” or “runtime configuration” as is often wrongly guessed.[2]

media player in Google Chrome

Recently i had started using chrome on Window’s laptop where i had installed VLC played for playing multi-media contents. VLC is really cool and very fast as compared to real player. Real player seems to have to lot of features  to manipulate video contents; but it is really slow ( I think real player should work on making it more efficient rather than adding two many features).

anyway, i had one of media file on network which i wanted to save locally on my local disk; but as soon as i was clicking the video link from Google Chrome, it was opening VLC and start playing it; i had no clue, how to save it on local disk; i checked various options on VLC and could not find anything quickly; To save the video i had open the same link in Internet explorer, which asked me whether i want to open the file or save the file and that is the way i was able to save the file on my local disk.

Free Invoicing Tools for SME

Following is list of available Free Invoicing software  for SME.

  1. Bamboo Invoice (http://bambooinvoice.org)
  2. simpleInvoices ( http://www.simpleinvoices.org)

Bamboo Invoice is very simple and easy to install, Simple Invoice is having more features but few of them don’t work, for example delete functionality is still not complete. Bamboo Invoice has small set of features but works perfectly. I prefer using simple invoice, since it supports more features and more documentation is available for simple invoice.
